About us.
1st Choice driving school has been established since 2004 and based in Grimsby Northeast Lincolnshire.  
We cover manual driving lessons in Grimsby and Cleethorpes.   

Thanks to high demand and reputation we now looking to cover Louth, Scunthorpe, and Hull and their surrounding areas (instructors needed as students are waiting to fill your diary).

Our driving instructors give structured driving lessons that meet the DVSA Syllabus standard (Driving Vehicles Standards Agency) and work with the ready to pass campaign. 
This is one of the reasons why we achieve and maintain a high 1st time pass rate.
Male and female instructors
1st Choice driving gives you the choice of male and female instructors but unfortunately we only have manual tuition vehicle (fitted with he-man dual controlled).
Colour presenter
Our instructors will give you expert tuition in modern teaching techniques with helpful modern flip colour presenters for your lesson briefs, so that you can see what you’re trying to achieve before actually putting it into practice.

Lesson structure

Driving lesson syllibus

1st Choice provides a safe environment and teaches all pupils to understand the importance of ‘safe driving for life’ and not just to pass a test.

Theory test
1st Choice will ensure that you’re driving lessons cover all the skills needed to pass your practical driving test, along with right theory and hazard perception apps to help you pass it. 
(Please be advised the theory test and hazard perception test is required 
before you take your practical test).

Lesson prices
1st Choice offers low cost and competitive prices, all our instructors are passionate and you will receive 100% professional tuition with tailor made lessons to suit the needs of all students, from the shy, nervous to advanced students.
1st Choice takes you the student into consideration and your ability to learn and we break down the briefs so you understand the topics taught.
We also know we absorb at different learning Capabilities, so we tailor our lesson to suit you giving you the opportunity to have 1hr, 1.5hr or 2hr lessons. This is so that you are not restricted to having just 1 hour lesson a week. We have found this to be a massive benefit to pupils and your pockets saving you money.
We work 6/7 days a week
1st Choice will pick you up and drop you off wherever you request for example: – home, college, work, train station or even the high street to do some shopping before your lesson. The choice is yours and we work around your availability. (Please ask at the time you book this lesson).

1st Choice Driving School believes that it is extremely helpful if you know the basic mechanics on how a clutch works, this will give you a better understanding of clutch control.
Thinking about becoming a driving instructor?
To become a Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and become a fully qualified DVSA (Driving Vehicle & Standards Agency) approved driving instructors. You have to successfully complete and pass three strict tests set by the DVSA.

Fully qualified instructors
Identifying a fully qualified driving instructor is very simple by the green Octagonal ADI badge that must be displayed in the left hand side of the windscreen.(Shown below). There are also PDI trainee driving instructors and they display a PDI badge that must also be displayed in the left hand side of the windscreen, it is also very simple to identify by the pink triangle badge. Please note a PDI trainee instructors has not yet completed and passed Part 3 Instructional Ability test and are still training.
